Dr. Kristjan Olafsson has been in the field of psychology for over 20 years after completing practicums and an American Psychological Association pre-doctoral internship at Crownsville State Hospital in Maryland, with participation in a formal neuropsychology training program.
The Clinical Neurophysiology, Electromyography Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Arizona was established in 1995. Since that time, approximately 10 fellows have completed training in this program. It is anticipated that going forward, one trainee will complete this fellowship annually. Psychology Internship Program. The pre-doctoral Internship at the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System in Reno, Nevada, is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association. Entry into a clinical neuropsychology residency program should be based upon completion of an APA or CPA accredited doctoral education and training program. Clinical neuropsychology residents will have successfully completed an APA or CPA accredited internship program which includes some training in clinical neuropsychology. The UCSF Clinical Psychology Training Program (CPTP) offers a two-year fellowship comprised of a one-year general clinical psychology internship (APA-accredited) and a one-year postdoctoral clinical and clinical research fellowship, based on the scientist-practitioner model. The psychology doctoral internship at Children’s Minnesota is an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited, 2,000 hour program.
